Playing Catch-up on 2014, Part 6 (November)

NOVEMBER 2014
Lucas is all of the sudden, very interested in all of the things we are eating.  He is always watching intently.

Here in this video (available on the live blog) Lucas even started moving his mouth and smacking his lips.  So Cute!!!  Not much longer son!!!  Don't you worry.... just a few more weeks and momma will feel comfortable trying you on some babyfoods ... and given my feeding experience and all of your positive cues... I'm guessing you are going to LOVE IT.

He also has recently outgrown the stage where he could sleep on my lap.  This is him during the adult session of stake conference….. 😍 😘
Doesn't quite fit like he used to, does he? LoL. πŸ˜‚.

We took our "2 minus 1" boating run for the season…. it was time to take a break.  Not to mention it was to the point that yes, our wet suits kept our cores and extremities warm…. but our hands and feet (exposed) were freezing and totally going numb. lol.

Jason ran a 5k
The last few weeks have been the First time he has been running in a LOOONG time.  He did the 5k just to support the cause, and to given him motivation to actually run.  Sam ran it as well, so it was fun to hang out with them before and after the race. Lucas slept most of the time, nice and comfortable in the ErgoBaby Carrier.

Utah Air National Guard Base renamed after Grandpa Wright
It was such an honor to be able to be there!!! 3 of Jason's 4 siblings were able to make it out to support him.  We were SO EXCITED because we got several 4x6 pictures of grandpa back from when he was in the Air Guard, and we even got a huge blown up and enhanced poster board of him with his original "mormon mustang" plane in WWII.  We also got a 4-generation picture with Jason, Lucas, Papa (Jason's dad) and Grandpa Wright. We are planning to buy a custom frame for the Mormon Mustang picture so we can hang it and the 4-generation picture in Lucas' room.  It will be an awesome family heirloom and history we will want to remember.
The drive up for the renaming was rough however, because Lucas cried almost the whole time!  πŸ˜’ But the drive home he slept a decent amount, so that was nice.  We are hoping he's getting the hang of traveling in the car.

Thanksgiving
Baby was sick 😷. Ugh. I was sick 😷. Boo.  But it was nice to get up and spend some more time with Jason's family since the trip up for the renaming was SO QUICK (was seriously like a 24 hour turn around... no wonder baby wasn't happy! lol). Lucas has started doing this new "stranger danger" thing, so it was also nice to be able to see his cousins and Jason's siblings again so soon for him to practice being around people BESIDES mommy and daddy all day. After the first hour or so, he was then fine being held by whoever the rest of the trip.  Jason's siblings loved that because Lucas is so cuddly and squishy, you can't help but want to kiss and squeeze him.  πŸ˜˜❤️
His outfits also help make him that much more irresistible. Especially because we knew we would be going up for the renaming, and then also for Thanksgiving, so I was able to convince Jason to let me buy a few winter things for Lucas.
Also during Thanksgiving I made my second pie ever.  This one was a Fresh Apple Cranberry one… and everyone said it was seriously to die for…. but I guess considering this is all that is left of the second pie, and there were only 8 people around… that kind of speaks for itself, right?
It made me feel pretty good especially since I was so nervous it wouldn't turn out where, like I said, it was only my second time EVER making a pie.

Jason's Grandma also did a special dinner at La Caille for us as well. Lucas was the ONLY great grandchild who was allowed to come…. but he's also pretty much the only one little enough to not need a plate for himself πŸ˜‚

When we got back to St. George after Thanksgiving, we realized Lucas really had very few toys… accordingly, we decided it was time to buy him a few instead of just chew toys and rubber spatulas from the kitchen. Haha.
As you can see… "coolest thing ever!!" Or maybe scared to death of the bright lights? But either way, couldn't take his eyes off of it. I'm pretty sure he didn't blink for like 15 minutes straight.
His hair continues to get longer as well…. check out his stylish "fohawk"!
Everyone agrees (for the most part), that Lucas used to look a lot like Jason but is starting to look a lot more like me when I was younger:

His Fine motor is improving a lot… so that he is now able to grab and pull things over…. like glasses full of water. See that grin? Pretty proud of himself. LoL.
This was a huge spider that I found while running barefoot outside at night (apparently not a good idea) to grab something from the car. I totally jumped when I saw him and spit my toothpaste out at this hairy-crunchy-thing.  And ironically, it didn't even phase the spider.  He just slowly made his way down the walkway. EEEEWWWW Yuck! πŸ˜–  I HATE SPIDERS!!!

And this is just the smiley little guy…. seriously… he really is a happy baby---if he's being held, played with, or given attention that is. Haha.

Late in the month he also "Found his toes"…. It was literally like the light went on this particular day and he was like, "Hey! Where did these come from??!!"

 4 month old pictures:

Christmas Tree is up and decorated… getting ready for our first Holiday season with bebecito! So excited!!!
