Avengers Release May 2012

Yup.  Still Playing Catch-up.  HOWEVER, these are all things I would like to document for myself (though many of you may have already heard about them), so I figure I will put them in my blog and then one day I will print off all of my posts as my excuse for not keeping a very consistent journal (which I'm sure NO ONE is surprised about as evidenced by the fact I don't keep a very consistent blog either. haha).

Jason and I have these good friends down here (Brooktynn and Ryan) who had been talking about "The Avengers release" since like March.  We said we would make a date of it and go together opening weekend.  Remember this picture from Moscow, Russia?
You KNOW it is going to be a big movie when they are spending tons of advertising money all over the world, and even the RUSSIANS are anticipating its release.

Anyway, I get home on Sunday night late.  I am totally jet lagged.  Monday Jason gives me an address of a place I HAVE to meet him after work.  I go there...... and it's a costume shop.  lol.  Jason was like, "Honey.  The Avengers comes out this weekend.  We HAVE to dress up for it!  It's going to be like the biggest movie of the year!"  I love that not only is he a good sport when it comes to things I want to do, but the fact he actually comes up with ideas like this himself!!!! lol.
The movie was AWESOME.  Being dressed up was even more awesome. The funny part, is that our friends didn't know we were dressing up.  We showed up on their doorstep in costume, and I was praying the whole way they would think it was funny.... rather than be embarrassed of us. lol.  They got a kick out of it. phew!  All of the people at the movie theater got a kick out of it too. We had random people coming up and asking to take pictures with us and to get our autographs and such.  It was so classic.  We felt like celebrities for sure.

We went with the same couple to "The Amazing Spiderman" this weekend.... I think they were half expecting us to show up on their doorstep in costume.  We told them it is all about the element of surprise.  We can't dress up for EVERY SINGLE movie or it takes the excitement out of it.  We have to save the dressing up for the movies we KNOW are going to be blockbusters ;).
