Truth #1: The best tanning rays do NOT end at 4 o'clock. Honest to goodness, we arrived at the pool AT 4pm on Saturday and by 4:30 Jason was already starting to look a little red and splotchy on his chest and we had to call it a day and return to our air conditioned apartment. Sheesh.
Truth #2: We're not as tan as we once were and high protection levels of sunscreen are going to be a necessity. The days of one-time application of SPF 15 to last the entire day have come to an end.
Truth #3: Even if it is only 15 minutes.... do not leave anything potentially meltable in the car, or you may come back to a lovely mess like this:
Yeah, yeah..... I know I grew up in St. George, but you're forgetting I have lived in Northern Utah for a long time now. You tend to forget how hot it can really get, and how unkind the inside of a car can be to items like these.
Truth #4: Praise the Heavens for Circle K. The term "Thirst Buster" is Music to my ears, refreshing to my palate, and merciful on my wallet. Circle K's 44 fountain oz. drinks are only 79 cents (as illustrated by the picture).... which include Blue and Red Powerade!!!!! We were already addicted to powerade/gatorade because of all of our running, so we are LOVING this find.
