November Updates

1) Recognize this fellow?
 What about from this angle?
(***Picture that I planned to insert here is unavailable at the moment. Blogger is telling me I have too many photos already. Drats.***)
If you're still scratching your head.... IT'S GARTH BROOKS SILLY!!!!!  He came to Phoenix Children's this month (apparently he was the primary donator for the new "Brooks Child Life Center" that just opened.... go figure..... haha). It was totally awesome.  I had to remind myself that he was there for the kids and not for me so that I didn't trample them just to get an autograph. lol.

2) Coloring during Stake Conference
The couple whose child we entertained during stake conference this year are HUGE "U" Fans.  Accordingly, we just couldn't help ourselves but leave them a few little surprises in their child's coloring book.  We felt like we earned that right of passage seeing as how we did entertain their child so they could listen during stake conference without being distracted... and now every time they look at the coloring book they can think about it. Muahaha. ;)

3) I have been really into painting my fingernails.
I have always been into painting my toenails, but never really into my fingernails until the past two months.  Seems kind of silly in all reality because the last two months I have also been doing a lot more rock climbing, meaning I have to RE-paint a lot more. However, I read somewhere that when you force yourself to use your non-dominant hand for tasks like brushing your hair, writing a note, ..... or painting the fingernails on your right hand..... that it forces you to exercise the non-dominant side of your brain and decreases the chance of developing Alzheimer's.  If it's true, what an easy prevention!  If it's not true.... at least I will have well manicured and colored nails in the mean time :)

4) Newest Restaurant Gem: Babbo Italian Eatery
Our good friends the Bloods had a Groupon to this little gem and invited us to go out with them.
Check out these delectable dishes, and TOTALLY reasonable prices (for a Downtown restaurant, not to mention decent portion sizes)!!!!
Good Find Blood's!!!!

5) Being left behind as your puppy and spouse drive away is NOT RECOMMENDED
This is a picture of Jason driving away with our bikes on Sunday of Thanksgiving week.  I still had to work on Monday and Tuesday, but joined him in San Diego on Tuesday night.   It was crazy HOW HARD it was for me to go to work on Monday and Tuesday, knowing he was already gone and feeling like I was missing out on all the fun! lol.

6) Speaking of Missing out on the fun.....
Leidy refuses to miss out on ANY family activity.  For example, when I was packing my suitcase it wasn't enough for her to just sit and chew her bone.  Oh no..... She had to chew her bone IN the suitcase, WHILE I was trying to pack it. lol.
And here on the drive back from San Diego, she wanted so badly to be close to us (she was placed on the back seat) that she scooted as far forward as she could and totally smashed her nose against the crate so she could be AS CLOSE AS PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE, given her situation.
And when I'm in the kitchen doing anything (especially cooking), she just sits there pleasantly starring up at me the ENTIRE time in an effort to let me know that JUST IN CASE I need assistance in the taste-testing department, that she is more than willing to be of service. How can you say "no" to that adorable little face?!
That fact that she really does feel like she is part of this family and needs to be involved in every little thing that goes on is so adorable.  Then again, I guess it makes sense that she would feel that way because she IS a huge part of this family!

  1. Leidy is sooo cute. I can't wait to meet her. She sounds like my boys who must be with me to do everything. But they want to be held or help instead of sitting and looking soooo cute.

Anyway I thought it was so funny that you posted a picture of the menu and said that the prices were good. That was a good indicator to me that we are in two totally different places in life because I thought...wow those prices are expensive.

Love your coloring too. So funny.
