Apparently I have been doing a little too much of THIS lately (wearing a few more pieces of clothing)
Two weeks ago as one of my classes was starting, I looked down at my shoes and thought to my self, "Self, your shoe laces are loose and you should probably tie them." Then I thought, "Self, that would be way to difficult, seeing as how the class has already started, and then I would have to bend down in the middle of dancing to tighten my laces." So of course, I did NOT tie my shoes..... and within 3 minutes I poorly placed my weight, and ended up with the above. Awesome.
The good news is that because Jason's dad is a Physical Therapist and owns his own practice, that contributed to Jason having lots of experience icing and wrapping injured patients. Score for me.
ANNNNNNNND to make it even better, Jason's dad was already planning to come visit for the weekend. SCORE!
I was excited to have him work his magic in hopes to get back to zumba-ing sooner rather than later. Complication--Pops forgot the underwrap.... we had to get creative as to not tape my flesh. We ended up with something that looked like this:
That's right. Knee-high nylon. I then wore this baby out to lunch, golfing, you name it. However it was totally worth it because I was back on my foot, dancing and cycling with in a week after my injury.... but maybe it was because Pops "secured (my) ankle with a heel lock, not to be confused with a useless figure 8,"...... Phew! Thank heavens for the heel lock! :)
We checked out this place that Jason's dad saw on Food Network. The ambiance was very memorable, the BBQ sauce was delicious, but the service was terrible. It is supposed to be a casual, sit-down BBQ joint and yet they rarely filled our water (even when asked), forgot to bring Pop's smoothie, and it took 45 minutes to get our food. Bummer.
We also went go-karting on an indoor slick track, thanks to Groupon. For those of you who don't know.... Jason and I are ...... okay, okay, I am kind of a Groupon addict. It is just so easy to push the buy button from the app on my phone.... If there was a Groupons Anonymous, I would probably need to join.
BUT.... thanks to Groupon we were able to go bowling with 3 couples last weekend for super cheap, AND have this awesome indoor track racing experience.
There was a guy and his friend who were in our heat as well, and afterwards, he finds me with wide eyes and says, "You were a terror out there! I always had to watch my back and be ready to pull over because I never knew when you were going to come flying around a corner and pass me!"..... I love those moments when I can interpret peoples comments to mean: I'm not prissy and I'm intimidating! YESSSSSS! Thanks man! I think?
Resulting in THAT
GREAT.
Background information.... the local YMCA has been looking for instructors. Everyone has been telling me I needed to be the Zumba instructor. Accordingly, I have been going a lot and trying out several different instructors in order to integrate their styles. Two weeks ago as one of my classes was starting, I looked down at my shoes and thought to my self, "Self, your shoe laces are loose and you should probably tie them."
