The temperature is intermittently dipping below 100. FINALLY!!!! Kind of sad when I say, "Wow, it felt really good outside today.... I think it's because the high was only 99." haha. That aside, this summer has been a lot more bearable than last summer in Phoenix. I think it is for a few different reasons:
A) We are becoming slightly more accustomed to the heat. Don't get me wrong.... it is STILL HOT.... but you kinda get used to the feeling of wearing sweaty clothes. haha.
B) We had like, NO rain last year.
C) We've had several rainy days this year (in comparison.... it's still a desert.....). Granted... When there is rain keep in mind there is humidity to accompany the heat... But with the inherently cooler temperatures..... TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!!
Like today..... Temperature was fairly nice because there was a rain storm. However rainstorms in the desert come with their own complications. Like Flash Flooding. Meaning that because I wore these cute little flats to work today to dress up my "pajamas" (scrubs)......
........I Had to walk through this at the end of the day in order to get into Halee. Yummy.
Speaking of "cooling off"..... the best way to TRULY cool off, is to have a little getaway. Jason's cousin Sarah picked the perfect time to get married, in the regard that we had a break from the high temperatures. YES! We had the opportunity to go up to her wedding in Utah which was hosted by a ski lodge at Alta. The Mountains made the most beautiful backdrop anyone could have asked for, and the temperature was oh so glorious. Thank you Sarah.
We also had the chance to get out to the driving range while up there in Salt Lake and hit some balls which was fun as well. The trip was a nice little break from reality.... but it went by WAAAAAY too fast. Now back to real life. *grumble *grumble.
