Probably the most engaging thing about this excursion was my nephew. He is so adorable and loves everything involving animals and I'm pretty sure I took hundreds (literally) of pictures involving him accordingly. However, I have picked just a few of my favorites because I don't know how I would feel about someone posting hundreds of pictures about my child on their blog ;).
Amish Fabric Store. Jason called it the "Amish Walmart":). This was only part of the front room! There was a much larger room in the back.
Typical Horse and Buggies seen around town
Our nephew LOVED his Uncle Jason! Kind of made his Aunt Dana Jealous.
Amish Countryside
The Boys
Jason and James
He wanted to hold EVERYTHING. It was adorable.
As you can see: He's pretty excited about this puppy!
Jason found a friend in the petting zoo. He fits right in with the other barn animals apparently ;).
Rocky randomly acquired some kind of feces on his pant leg... most likely thanks to James' shoes. We told him he had to clean it off or he wouldn't be able to ride back with us. It might seem pretty mean, but after sitting across the aisle on our flight to Columbus from a guy with a SERIOUS case of Flatulence... we had had enough of "that" scent to last a lifetime. (Not even kidding.... once we counted 27 incidents of flatulence, we stopped counting and assumed mouth breathing in an effort to maintain sanity. An hour into the flight {several hours still remaining} the stewardess came up to the lady sitting next to me and offered to help her change her baby's diaper. I looked directly at the stewardess and said in an intentionally loud voice, "Thank you for your offer ma'am, but that is not a baby's diaper. There is actually a gentleman {if you can even call him that with his crude behavior demonstration} across the aisle who keeps passing gas over and over and it continues to circulate through this plane for the rest of us to enjoy." And then I give a forced smile. The stewardess looking appalled, looks across the aisle and says, "Well, unfortunately, I can't help you with that!"Interestingly enough, the flatulence stopped immediately.... like the reason he continued to pass gas before was because he thought we didn't know the "aroma" was coming from him.... We knew.
Anyway.... Returning to the previous theme: Amish Country.
Notice Jason's cute little face in the snowman? (lower right hand corner).... We are thinking of making this our Christmas Greeting Card.... Thoughts? ;)
Amish Lady walking.... Horse and Buggy Blocking Traffic... Typical site. However, I may or may not have taken this picture out of the sun-roof of slowly moving vehicle.... The Amish lady found it entertaining.
Drive Home..... You would think these two guys were brothers or something. Go Figure.
