CHRISTMAS 2010
Christmas was spent in St. George with my family. It was so great because all of my immediately family was there. My older sister and her 4 darling kiddos, my younger sister Natali and her husband Reed, My sister Jaimee (who is currently in the marines), My brother Jared (freshman at UVU) and then my two youngest siblings who still live at home (Jayden and Tracie)... throw in my parents and it was a grand old time :).
Besides the Gingerbread Competition, I think one of our favorite moments was when my dad opened his Christmas present from us. Preface: My Mother has a life sized wedding picture of me posted on one of the walls in their home. Forward: My Dad told us we didn't need to get him anything because All of the things he wanted, we probably couldn't afford... and he was probably right.... except for ONE THING. We wrote him a funny note about wanting to help him decorate his new office building.... and he opened the box to find: A HUGE picture of Jason (almost life size to match the life size picture of me) writing a check from a business executive desk. See Below (PS the pictures don't do justice for how big the pics really are of both Jason

HOLIDAY PICTURES
Took pictures for my sister and her husband, and she took them for Jason and I. Pretty handy being able to swap out like that!
December 27th (through Mid March):
Began my voluntary slave labor experience with Primary Children's Medical Center.... Actually, I guess it's not volunteer, nor slave labor because I am actually paying to be there. Yes, you read correctly. I am paying the University nearly 6k this semester to complete my externships at off-site affiliations. Ironic part, is the Hospital receives no compensation for taking on students! So where does the 6k go? Good Question.
On a positive note, I am LOVING my experience at PCMC. My Mentor is amazing. I am learning SO much every day. My pt's vary so widely that I am ALWAYS kept on my toes. The thing that is hard about it, is I am supposed to be completing 4-10's... however one SLP (speech language pathologist) is out of commission due to pneumonia and census is very high... Meaning We have been completing 12-13 hour days instead of 10. I get home and am exhausted and just want to stare at a white wall and think about NOTHING (except maybe dessert:) ). Supposedly the schedule will be improving in the next few weeks. We will see.
POST CHRISTMAS:
Jason's family was in town and it was so good to see all of them! His brother and sister in law flew in from Ohio (where Rocky is completing his 3rd year of Med school) with their adorable baby... so fun to see them! Jason's parents were also in town, and his siblings who live close came over as well (meaning: not his sister who recently left to Russia on a mission).
NEW YEARS 2011
New years was spent in Orem with my sister and her husband (the ones whose blog i just posted above, lol). We had a delicious dinner and played a few games of Settlers of Catan. Pretty sure I am addicted to this game!
JANUARY 7, 2011
I waved my hair for the first time in two years before going out on a date.... I was feeling pretty crazy! With as thick and long as my hair is (considering it keeps going even past the picture!), I was quickly reminded why I don't do it very often :)
JANUARY 21st, 2011
Found out my Sister finished her 1st semester in the top 10% of her Law Class at BYU! WOO HOO! We were so proud of her we went out with her and her hubby, My cousin and her hubby, and my brother Jared to "Joe's Crab Shack." This is her favorite restaurant, so it was the perfect place to celebrate. Though a little pricey, the food was well worth it! I was bummed that I didn't learn the "secret" for crab legs until I was on my last one, doh! BUT... at least now I know for next time.
